Ms. Anna Kaminski and Mr. Justin Shear works with undocumented immigrants who come to Casa de Maryland's Wheaton Worker's Center to find a job. The Worker's Center's goal is to connect employers who want to hire people to work with the immigrants who need work and want to be treated fairly.

TOPIC: Immigrant Work Centers

¨    Many people don’t agree with work centers like Casa de Maryland.

¨    The Wheaton Workers' Center only provided an average of 25 jobs per day, and almost 70 people come asking for jobs.

¨    Work centers do not only help immigrants but it also helps American employers by helping match immigrants with jobs that a regular citizen does not want to do.

¨    Casa de Maryland provided jobs like constructions, planting, plumbing, roof and floor jobs, and also janitor jobs.

¨    At the Wheaton Workers' Center, workers and employers sign a contract that says that workers can not get paid less than $10 an hour and they cannot work less then 4 hours.
