I was born in Honduras in 1993. I lived with my
parents for four years and a couple of months. Then my parents moved to the U.S. My mom
wanted me to come to live with her. My dad did not want me to leave Honduras to
study in the U.S because he didn’t want me to be an immigrant. My aunt called my
mom and told her that the coyote would bring me and her for 6,000 dollars.
When I came to the United States, I was a little boy I
was happy to be with my parents again but I missed my old school and my old
friends. It was not that big of a difference here in Washington
from where I used to live in Honduras.
The only difference was that I didn’t get to go to school with my cousins like
in Honduras.
I felt lonely because I didn’t know any one in that school and I missed my old
friends.
The only difficulty I faced was that I didn’t make a lot of friends at
the beginning. With English I had some problems. I did not know that much
English. In Honduras,
I was starting first grade in a private school. There the teachers only taught
English, but I never finished first grade in Honduras so I didn’t learn that
much English. In my new I knew a little bit of English and my teacher spoke
Spanish. In the end, I felt good because
I had lot of friends and was learning more English.
