We interviewed day laborers who were looking for work at the Wheaton Worker's Center in Wheaton, MD. The center is one of four operated by Casa de Maryland to assist immigrants, most of whom were illiegal, to look for work and protect their right to be treated and paid fairly for their work.

The staff and the laborers were happy to share their stories with us. As most of the day laborers did not speak English, we teamed up in bilingual groups of English and Spanish speakers to interview 3-4 individuals. The day laborers' names have been changed to protect their identities.

Thanks to Anna Kaminski and Justin Shear for welcoming us.
