        I am from Peru.

What year did you arrive to the U.S?

        I arrived on October 13, 2006.

Why did you choose to immigrate to the United States?

        I wanted to experience a new life.

Do you like it here?

        Yes, I like it here.

Did you travel to the U.S with a friend or by your self?

        I traveled alone.

How did you feel about the U.S?

        I felt worried that the police would get me.

Did you leave anybody behind?

        Yes, I left behind my mother and brother.

Who do you live with in the United States?

        I live by myself.

Did you decide to come to the U.S by yourself or did people encourage you?

        Yes, my uncle encouraged me to come to the United States.

Do you tell your family members back in Peru about the U.S.?

        Yes, I tell my mother that the United States is a good country.

Did your life change how you wanted it to?

        No, my life is still the same.

Did you finish high school in Peru while you were living up there?

        Yes.

Where do you live at in the U.S?

        I live in Maryland.

Did you move to other places before you moved to Maryland?

        Yes, I lived in Atlanta, New Mexico, Mississippi, and New Orleans.

Did you have a job in Peru?

        Yes, I worked as a miner. I made $650 a month.
