1) Where did you live before you immigrated to the US?    

 I lived in Peru.

 

2) Where do you live at?

        I live in Maryland.

 

3) Who do you live with?

        I live with a friend of mine.

 

4) What year/date did you arrive in the United States?

          I came here on February 14, 2006.

 

5) What were your reasons for immigrating?

        I came here because I wanted to have a better life and the economy in Peru     was very bad.

 

6)  Did you immigrate alone, or with family members/friends?

        I came by myself but I made some friends on the way.

 

7) Did you leave any family members behind?

       Yes, two kids and my wife.

 

8) Did you decide to immigrate or did somebody else make the decision?

      I wanted to come to this country so I made the decision to come here on my own will.

 

9) How did you get information about the US?

      A friend told me about the US and how it is a better place to live.

 

10)  Did you attend school in your home country? Did you attend school in the US?

          I graduated from high school but did not get the chance to go to college because I didn’t have any money. I wasn’t able to attend school here in the US.

 

11) What kind of job did you have at your home country?

          I worked as a gardener in Peru.

 

13) Is the job you have here better then the job you had in Peru?

         The job I have here is much better because the job over there was much harder and they paid me less money.

 

12) If you had the chance to go back to your home country would you go back?

        No, I would not go back because it is hard to have a good life in Peru and the US is giving him the amount of money that he needs so he would stay for the moment.

 

13) Where do you get your food from?

         I eat at MacDonald’s because it is much closer to Casa De Maryland.

 

14)  What are your feelings about immigration in our country?

           I think that the government should us and give as the chance to stay here.
