When I was little, I went to New York to spend the summer with my grandmother. I remember some things about my summer in New York. Like when it is summer time and humid in New York, it is cool and warm at the same time in Washington D.C. The subway stations are different and the buses are different. The similarities between New York and Washington D.C are some of the food they have. New York was a nice place to spend time in. I began to think it was my home because I stayed there all summer and I had so much fun there. It would be a nice place for a family to spend time with each other.

When I went to New York, the change of the environment affected me because I was really young and it was so new to me. I missed my home. Then I accidentally I left my teddy bear there--my teddy bear that I used to carry everywhere with me and I left it. I felt sick and I felt sad. I felt sad because I missed half of my family members too. But I got to spend time with grandmother and I thought lived in New York. After spending all of those days there, I started to feel like it was my home.

A difficulty I faced in New York was getting along with other New Yorkers. My mother said that I tried to act like I couldn’t talk but when I got home she said I’ve talked too much. I started getting used to the environment so I started talking to a lot of people. I learned every time I go to a new environment, I don’t have to be stubborn and not talk to anyone. I feel better about it now because I think of New York as my second home.
