Some of us are immigrants. Some of us are children of immigrants. Others of us have family histories that can be traced back to the forced migration of Africans to the United States. However, we all agreed on the single fact that:

The United States is a nation made up of immigrants.

In order to connect with each other and build a community based on our interest in immigration, we wrote personal narratives that described a time when we each individually experienced events and feelings that are similar to the experiences of immigrants that we have learned about through reading, viewing and hearing their stories.
